Women in Music
Saskatchewan
Started in 2018, Women in Music Saskatchewan (WIMS) is a gathering point for women (cis, trans, transfeminine) youth and adults working in any capacity and at any level in the Saskatchewan music industry. We want to encourage dialogue around our challenges and triumphs, support each other, and build a sense of community while working to foster gender equality in the music industry.
LEADERSHIP
About Lorena Kelly
Lorena Kelly is currently the Executive Director of SaskMusic and president of Regina Musicians Association, Local 446. As a professional musician she started in classical piano, then studied keyboards at Professional Musicians’ College.
She has toured across Canada, the U.S. and internationally backing up numerous artists in genres such as country, folk, and pop, in addition to releasing her own albums; and has freelanced offering artist publicity services, graphic design, and web design.
Lorena has been involved in the music industry for several decades and has served on many different host committees, association boards and industry juries.
