About Sharon Hinds
Women in Music Toronto Co-Chair
Sharon Hinds is a seasoned thought leader with over a decade of experience across multiple industries – specializing in project management, organizational development, and philanthropy. Originally from Guyana, South America, Sharon’s global perspective has shaped her career with a steadfast belief in the power of diversity and collaboration.
Her impressive career highlights include being the first Black woman appointed to the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) board and launching operational teams for several niche broadcasting radio formats.
Sharon’s leadership extends to her previous board roles with Women in Film and Television (WIFT+) and receiving recognition for 2024’s Women in Communications & Technology Leadership Trailblazer Award and 2020 Award Recipient as one of Canada’s Accomplished Black Women ( ABC) for Leadership in Community Philanthropy initiatives.
Sharon has consistently demonstrated the ability to bridge cultural gaps fostering environments where diverse voices are not only heard but celebrated.
Sharon currently works at Rogers Sports & Media as a Revenue Operations Manager.

Elizabeth Phipps brings over a decade of experience in the music industry, where she has developed a stellar reputation for promoting Canadian artists. In 2010, she began her journey with her music blog, Torontette, which spotlighted local bands and artist interviews. The following year, Elizabeth joined Sony Music Canada as a Social Media Manager, later transitioning to artist management – spearheading campaigns for global icons such as Justin Timberlake, Travis Scott, and Miley Cyrus.
During her five years at AWAL, her passion for artist development evolved, serving a pivotal role in establishing the Toronto office while working with emerging artists like Luna Li, Lu Kala and The Beaches.
Elizabeth presently leads Spotify Canada’s Artist and Label Partnerships team. Elizabeth is dedicated to empowering artists, strengthening industry connections, and creating a thriving music community.
